5years and how our family has changed.

Can you believe it has been almost 5years since my last Blog? A lot has changed in that time. Here are a few of what has changed:
1. Scout finished school.
2.I started my own buisness
3. My mom died
4. My dad got remarried
5. I became a Caregiver
6. My son got baptized
Scout finishing school was so amazing. we had been working on it for a long time and we were ready to move on from the poor student life. He graduated with a degree in Heavy Diesel Mechanics and loves it. He is so good with his hands we knew that something like that was a amazing fit for him and his career. He was working at some ski resorts but after some health issues he has changed to maintenance. So he now dose mall maintenance in Salt Lake City and he really enjoys the people he works with and the job.
Me starting a business was the last thing I had in mind. I have always wanted to work from  home but did not think it would be running my own business. I am a independent Younique makeup Consultant. Can I just tell you that I love it so much. It is a amazing job. I initionally signed up for the discount on the makeup but then decided that it would be a awesome work opportunity. So as of 6months ago I dived in and got to work. It is a slow process with all the other things I have on my plate but I am loving it.
Maybe the biggest thing that has changed is I no longer have my mother on this earth with me. It is so hard for me to talk about but I know I need to. She had Cancer and then went into remission and then turned around not even three years later and it came back. It was so bad the second time around that it was in her bones. I miss her so very much and it is so hard to describe how hard it is to live without your mom. But I am so grateful for the time I did have with her and the love that she had for me.
Then about 6months after my mom died my dad remarried. That was a shock to us because we  had not been without mom that long. But the Lady he married is amazing and she is so kind and you can tell she really loves my dad and my dad loves her. I am happy for the two of them. Even though it was sooner than I was ready for it dose not take away the fact that she is a amazing person and a wonderful addition to  our forever family.
Becoming a caregiver has been a huge change in my life. I am now in charge of taking care of and making medical decisions for my Grandma(my moms mom). She is a amazing woman and I love having her live with me and get to know my son. I am so happy and honored that she choose me to take care of her for however long she has in this life left. She brings and peace to my house and such a awesome spirit into our life.
Cody is now 8years old. Can you believe that? I am still in shock. He got baptized last month and he is such a wonderfully happy boy right now. He is such a spiritual warrior and I try my best to be a amazing mom so he keeps that about him. He is now in 2nd grade and loves science and math. he is so smart and loves all people that he comes in contact with.
As you can see our life has changes but the love that we have has not lessened at all over the years. I love my little family and very excited to give you a peak into our life in the future.

How I have figured out how to control my money now will it work for you???

How do we fully take control of our money? Well in my brain it is simple just get out of debt and don’t go back into it. Yes I know that it is easier said than done but in reality is it? What do so many people stay in debt? Why do people take out new debt? And why is there very few people who do something about it and get out of debt for good? These are a few questions that run across my mind when I think about this subject.

So why do people stay in debt? I feel there are a lot of reasons for people to stay in debt but there are two that stand out to me. The first one is because they need to pay an emergency of some sort. They have what is called an emergency credit card. I feel that this is a good idea but at the end of the day you should just save up that same amount and then cut up the credit card and have a emergency fund instead. The second is they feel like their credit score would go done. They are right their credit score would go down but all a credit score shows is how much debt you can balance not how good you are with your money. Author Dave Ramsey says: He knows everyone wants a house and they think that their credit score has to be high. He goes on to say he has a credit score of 0points because he has no debt. He says if you have to get a loan for a house or a car go to a bank that has their own underwriting department. I just don’t think people are aware of how to live debt free. We have the mentality in our world today that you are not a grown up if you don’t have a credit card or car payment.  I know a lot of people make the excuse well I want a reliable car or I need an education so I need to go into debt for that. All those make perfect sense but know what you are getting yourself into. If you have to get what you call a reliable car by buying brand new and going into debt then make sure that you get just what you need so that you do not have such a high bills. With school just go into debt for what you need in your situation so that you do not have as much to pay back.

The second question I had is why do people stay in debt? I think a lot of that answer has to do with the person’s circumstance. Sometimes it is because they have no money to get out of debt and other times it is they do not want to be patient about saving for things so they keep a credit card in case they find something that they want right then. I think most people just have not figured out a way to budget their money to stay out of debt.

My last big question is why is there so few people that live debt free now? I really believe it is due so much to the, I want it now mentality. We as a people don’t want to wait until we have the cash for something we just want what we want now and we don’t care about how much extra in the end that we have to pay. I admit I have been sucked into the, I want it now mind set. But I have found that it has just gotten me into trouble.

I believe there are so many reasons to go into debt but there is one big reason to get out and stay out of debt and that is PEACE. The peace that I feel knowing that when money comes in that I get to keep it and not have to make that next payment on a car or credit card. My money has become my money like it never was before. That is the peace that I want in my life.  If you would love to know more about the things I have been talking about then look at my research below.

Our life...

So I totally know it has been way too long since I last posted. We have just been so busy but I am working on from here on out being better about keeping everything up to date. Scout is still going to school for Heavy Diesel Mechanic he has 3 more semesters and then he will be done. He is loving it but he is so ready to be done with all the school and get to the job. Scout works for the IRS for about 6months and then he works for Lagoon for about 7months and then he dose not have work in November and December. that is another reason he is excited to be done with school because then he will have a year around job.
I am still a stay at home mom and loving it. I have finally realized after I hate to say to many years that home is where I am suppose to be no matter what our income is. I love watching Cody grow and learn new things everyday. I love to spend time with him and just listen to him talk it is so funny and cute. I am really starting to enjoy being a stay at home mom. I have always enjoyed being a mom but it has been hard for me to get used to not working.
Cody is growing so fast he just turned three and is doing awesome he is talking all the time and he is taller than most every child his age plus the ages of some older. He loves to just play the Disney infinity game with all of his characters.
We are doing really well as a family and loving spending time together. We still live in Layton and will be here until Scout is done with school. We are in a perfect location and it is great to be near Scouts side of the family. Life is wonderful and Heavenly Father has blessed us so much I just love it.

Life Update

I feel like it has been forever on updating my blog.  Update on everything going on,  Scout is going to school full time for Heavy Diesel Mechanic at the DATC and he is working at Domanos pizza part time. We are hoping he is going to be done the first part of next year and then we will figure where we want to live and so on.  Life is pretty crazy around our house with Scout not around a lot between work and school I take care of the day in and day out things around that house and our dear growing and now almost crawling little boy.   I had knee surgery on February 22 for my left knee again for the third time in less than 4 years.  I went in and they told me that they were going to to replace my ACL  well they got in there and found out that they could not replace it so they took the old one out and they packed the bone and they fixed my meniscus and then closed me up for 6 months.  I am going back in 6months to get a ACL put back in me.  I did find out that I am not able to job ever again which was really hard for me because I love my rely races.  But life goes on and changes everyday.  Life is awesome and I am so excited for the future.
